Introducing the tutors
Digital Wellbeing Sprint is a modifed Google Ventures design sprint, where multidisciplinary student teams take on real-life challenges from partners who represent a wide range of actors in the health and wellbeing space. In 2023 the sprint will be held fully remotely at the end of May.
The teams will be supported by a group of teachers from the 3UAS schools, myself as project manager and by a group of master’s students who will act as facilitators for the teams. Now it is my pleasure to introduce to you the tutors for DWS 2023:
Adityan
What does this image say about you?
Staying low key and on the low end, but still trying to do my essential bit everyday. Also you probably cant hear me unless you’re really listening.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
A dip made out of crushed fire ants accompanying my salted potato chips.
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
Probably not one of those ants.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
Soaking in the spring sun in the park, drinking chilled lemonade, listening to Cannibal Corpse.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…experience a design sprint from a different perspective, learn how to be a better facilitator and solve big problems with the almighty power of teamwork, collaboration, and Miro.
Eini
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I had a Coca-Cola with coffee. It’s a new mixed drink by Coke that I enjoyed in Montreal. This is not a typical meal for me, but I had to satisfy my curiosity and try it.
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
I would choose to be a cat. I find them funny and intriguing, and I would like to better understand what they think and feel when they interact with the world.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
A balanced routine! I start my days with focus time in the mornings, followed by a workout and a lunch break, and then I work with others/collaborate in the afternoons.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…help empower our team to reach their goal for the challenge.
Sabine
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Well, it was rather drinking than eating: hot chocolate with white cheese melting in it. It’s very typical in Colombia.
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
Some sort of migrating bird because I get bored easily, and then I wouldn’t live in the same environment doing the same things for too long.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
Morning cuddles in bed with my cat and working next to an open window.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…support a good energy (especially within the team I get to tutor), and practise (remote) facilitation.
Sami
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
I had to think about this for a while, and one of the weirdest things I’ve eaten is octopus in its own ink. Although this may not sound super weird, the food looked like molten lava rock, but tasted heavenly.
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
I have two ten-year-old bearded dragons who live in a terrarium. I could be either of them for a day. The day would consist of eating worms or crickets and lying on a branch under a heat lamp. In winter, I could also hibernate as they almost do.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
Going for a morning walk before starting studies or work is always important to remember. It is important to get oxygen to the brain, and the time spent outside pays off in more efficient work.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…perform well in the sprint compared to everyone’s expectations and learn to facilitate the sprint process in practice.
Stefan
What does this image say about you?
This is actually a stamp a friend of mine carved for me a few years back.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
That would be live octopus, which still wiggles and twists and turns as you eat it (South Korea).
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
A dachshund, so I could learn to better understand and communicate with my two dachshund ladies.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
I slept in. This is something I barely ever do, but it was much needed today after the exhausting trip I had for the last couple of days.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…help my team do well while growing as a facilitator.
Tiina
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
All sorts of vegetarian “meat” found in grocery store.
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
A bird, I truly love flying (in a plane).
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
I slept a little longer today as I didn’t have morning meetings.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…support the participants through the design sprint and enjoy the journey!
Valtteri
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Fudge mämmi
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
Free horse running around in old Oak forests. It would be nice experience to try running in four phased style.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
Toying with LLM-/SD-models and various VR-games
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…see navigation in uncertainty, embracing journey and seeing week-long experience forming within the teams with good fellows.
Vi
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
This is a difficult question! What is weird for you (or the “Western world”, to be on a general level) is not that weird for me. For example, I have tried most items on the first list from this link https://cultureatz.com/weirdest-thing-you-ever-ate. Then again, stinky cheese or tartare is weird for me, and I haven’t tried it.
If you could be any animal for a day, which one would you choose and why?
I’d like to be an otter. Otters are cute, playful, love to cuddle, and usually live in pairs or groups. They live by the water, where I could get to swim or chill out all day.
What was one thing that contributed to your health and/or well-being today?
Optimism. From the previous sprint/course Cern Bootcamp, I learned that happiness leads to good health and well-being. And happiness is when you have positive more than negative emotions. Being optimistic contributes a lot to a happy mind.
Complete the sentence “My main goal for this sprint is to…”
…learn online sprint tutoring and facilitating while having fun and enjoying the study.
And there you have the tutors for Digital Wellbeing Sprint 2023. We’re all looking forward to meeting the participants soon!
